Hey there, I am having a problem with 2 computers on my network. One machine is running XP Professional with Office XP and it was having a problem where it would shut Word down for no reason (just vanishes. I couldn't figure out why so I uninstalled it and reinstalled and it was fine for a few months, now it is happening again. Only now another computer is doing the same thing, this one running Win2000 and Office 2000. Any ideas? I don't want to unintstall and reinstall every couple of months....

Just do a reinstall which will perform basically as a recovery. The actual could be anything from hardware to the fact that it is a Microsoft product.

If anyone calls and says "I know a little something about computers" just tell them to reformat it.

I thought of that, but when I do a search for normal.dot on any of my pcs sitting here with Office 2K no normal.dot is found...did they stop using it on this version?
