hi all...been working on this word doc for weeks. i wrote up some macros. my first batch of macros still work. last week, i created a few more macros, and every time i try to run those, i get an error message that says my macros are disabled. not sure if this is true because the first set of macros i created work. the error message instructs me to close the doc and reopen with "enable macros". but i don't get that pop-up on open.

would much appreciate your help. i'm gonna be stuck working on this doc for another couple weeks, and i need those macros!!!!! :) thanks all!

check under tools >> macros >> security and make sure your security isn't set to high. You only get that pop up if the security is set to medium, if it's set to low you don't get a pop up and if it's high I think you either get a different pop up or none (can't remember off the top of my head)

thanks for the reply, ForumKB. that was actually the first thing i did..change my macro sec settings. but that didn't work. i even tried the lowest security setting...still to no avail. i don't understand why pc "thinks" macros are disabled...yet the other macros i created still work. both sets of macros (old one that works and new one that doesn't) are built specifically into the document itself and not globally. i tried recreating and setting to global. same message.

FYI: VBA/Macro specific questions should be posted in forum707.

Do any of the macros call other macros that reside in other documents? Or in a different application (Excel, Access)?

hi john...no, they don't. all the macros reside just within Word, and they don't point to any other macros...not even within Word.

The two 'sets' of macros you refer to: how are they distinct? Are they in separate modules within your document? If so what happens if you cut and paste the ones that don't work into the module containing the ones that do work - and vice-versa. If not, how are they organised?

Enjoy,
Tony
