Word keeps installing a feature!

Nearly (but not quite) every time I open Word XP it runs the installer and installs a feature, without saying which. If it does not find the program CD it demands it, so I have had to leave it in all the time! I have uninstalled and reinstalled Word several times and run "Detect and Repair".

I am using WorksSuite 2003 under Windows 2000 Pro. Any ideas before I go totally mad? Can find nothing on the MS site and as it came with the computer MS are not interested. Multivision (computer suppliers) have tried very hard but failed to find a solution other than reinstalling Windows. Though I have a series of System state backups, too many other things have changed to make me want to go there.

Have you tried a "Add/remove components" install?
Set everything you want installed to "Run all from Workplace" and all you don't want to "Not available".

Make sure that nothing is set to "On first time required".
