I used a form text box and called it CoName. Elsewhere on the document I used {REF CoName \*MERGEFORMAT}.

The problem is, I want the Ref field to be formatted differently than the form text box. I read that's what the Mergeformat is for. However, if the company name is more than one word "The Big Company", only the first word stays formatted the way I want it to.

Sounds like all I should do is format the form text box. Yes, that works. But, I want the company name formatted differently depending on where it shoes up in the document.

Any ideas.

Thanks.

In case anyone is wondering. I finally found an answer on Microsoft's site.

This is a glitch and if you change the MERGEFORMAT TO CHARFORMAT it seems to keep the formatting.

ex. {REF CoName \*CHARFORMAT}

Thank you very much on this if you have it bookmarked :) Was driving me nuts.
