I've run into a problem using Word form fields formatted as a percentage.

I have a form field that is formatted as 0.0%;(0.0%. I need for the user to be able to enter 24.5 and have the field return 24.5%. Currently, the user has to enter .245. I understand that by default Word automatically adds two decimal places to fields formatted as a percent. Is their anyway to prevent this behavior? I don't mind using a macro if necessary.

Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

Hi,

why don't you just:
- format your formfield as number (not percent)
- put the percent symbol in the normal text next to this formfield
- divide by 100 not in the formfield (via formatting as percent), but in the formula depending on the formfield

After playing around with different formatting codes of a Word formfield this seems the most simple solution to me.

In Format cells Keep "Number=1, Currency=1,Percentage=1"..I tried & it works.

Excuse me, but what cells? There has been no mention of cells.

Sorry it's taken me so long to respond to this thread. I too, am unsure what cells you are speaking of phatka. These are form fields in a word document.

Gotta say, since you first posted this (in another thread) I have been trying to get this to work, and have not succeeded fully.
