I am having a problem with Excel OLE objects stored in Word documents. If I create a blank Word document I can use insert, object, Microsoft Excel Worksheet to add an Excel object. This immediately takes me into editing mode and I am able to change the contents of the worksheet object. If I then click away from the object to another area of the Word document the worksheet object remains visible as it does if I save the Word document and reload it. My problem comes when I later double click the object to edit it further, I then get the message 'Word Cannot Open The Document: user does not have access privileges'.
The problem seems isolated to Word as I can insert and reedit worksheet objects in Microsoft Publisher quite happily. I have run the Word detect and repair option which detected no problems. The problem only started today and I have restored from yesterday's restore point which made no difference. I have also deleted the normal.dot template just in case that was corrupt.
Can anybody help? Many thanks
Paul
