When typing a normal text document, the beginning letter of each line is capitalzed. How can I get it back to where it only caps when I tell it to?

Thanks,

Mike

Tools - Options.

Click the "Spelling & Grammar tab.

Bottom-right corner, click "Settings".

Under "Grammar", de-select "Capitalization"

Hope this helps.

Dale,
Thanks for the quick reply, but that didn't seem to cure the problem. I still have the caps.

Mike

Mike,

Sorry for the wrong info.

I should have pointed you to:

Tools - AutoCorrect.

Then de-select "Capitalize first letter of sentences".

Regards, Dale Watson

It looks like that did it, Dale. Do you know if this change will affect anything else? I can't imagine how anything in there got changed.

Gerry,
For the record, it's Word 2000.(9.0.2720)

Thanks again for the help.

Mike

Mike, I can't see this having any adverse impact on anything else. The only thing you'll need to be careful of is making sure to capitalize the first letter of sentences.

If you're like me, capitalizing the first letter "comes naturally", so it's not something I would be concerned with.

You say "When typing a normal text document, the beginning letter of each line is capitalzed"

That should only happen if you start a new paragraph for each line. Make sure you are not pressing Enter at the end of each line. That will get you into trouble eventually.

pbrodsky,
I've always used 'enter' to start a new line. Why would this be a problem?
