While, as far as I know, you cannot save as a .pdf directly from Word, you can download some free programs that will allow you to do this.
The one we use here is CutePDF. It is free and can be downloaded from here:
How the &&^%$ do you view a file in Word created by open office. I've got a true bozo who is sending out all his resumes in wxs format (I think). The way to get a job, of course is to keep 'em guessing, but sending out your details in secret code is going a little far. Anyway, I am going to try to open it with Acrobat, but I bet it won't.
