I am using Word 2000 SP3, on a W2K machine.

I have several documents that are about 50% hidden text/comments. I would like to copy the *visible* text only to a new document... but whenever I select ALL and copy and paste, the hidden text is imported into my new document. Is there a way to get around this? It is possible to tell Word you only want to copy the visible text?

Thanks in advance!

Instead of paste use Edit Paste Special and try the options there.

May do it

Neil,

Thanks for the tip. I tried the paste special, and it sort of works. It copies the visible text only, but it also removes all formatting from the data. This isn't *too* awful, as it is much easier to reformat than to copy and paste a 20 page document one paragraph at a time. However, I'm still holding out hope that there is a way to copy visible text only without losing any formatting.

Thanks again!
