Hey everyone,

I'm not sure if what I'm wanting is possible or not. I'm not very knowledgeable with MS Word, so maybe someone can tell me if this can be done.

I want to create a header that will go on the top of all the documents for my dad, it's basically just his business logo and address. Now is it possible, if I change the header layout, perhaps create a new logo.. Is there a way that Word will go back and update the header for all the documents it was inserted into?

I can do this easily in html using SSI, if anyone is familiar with that. Basically I just want it so if I change the header layout, he doesn't have to go back through all his old documents updating the logo and address again. Is there a way that will automatically see that the header was changed and update it?

Thanks for any help.

If it's just the logo when you Insert, Picture From File look for an Insert drop down box and Link to File.

Link to Logo.jpg and when you change the logo save it in the same place with the same name and the update will be automatic.

You may want to look at the Paste special command as well and have a master document where you make the header changes and Paste link into the letter template.
