Word 97 File location

I want to set a default file location in Word to the users homedire H:\ (is user variable) but Word convers this to a UNC path. Is there a bypass?

Hi! Word, by design converts the path containing a logical drive letter to a UNC style path. Check out microsoft's tech doc number Q171406 in their knowledgebase on their web site for disabling the UNC by changing the registry switch to "DontUseUNC" .
