I am using Win95/Word 97. In the file, open view, either preview, details or other, you cannot delete any file. When you try a message 'Access Denied' appears and states that the drive may be full or write protected (it is neither).

If I go to explorer I can delete any file in the normal way. The WP files/folders are not protected in any way that I am aware of!! -
Any ideas?
Thanks Stephen

This message usually only happens when you (or someone else) has the file open. You can't be looking at or editing the file in WORD and then try to delete it without first closing it.

Your problem could be because you also have the File Preview option running, the one that shows what the file consists of.
Change the view to Details, you may also want to restart Word, then try deleting from the Open File Window
Good Luck
