Hi Everybody,

I am currently creating a simple word 2007 template with form fields and protection on the rest of the document.

I have created this but it will not work in office 2003. I have tried saving in compatability mode (As a 2003 document) without any luck.

I have been doing some digging and have found a few post's stating the same problem if i made the template in 2003 it will not work in 2007! Is this correct?

I presume some of you may of come across this problem before so any advice would be welcome.

Many Thanks,

AR

Hi AR,

A template saved in the Word 97-2003 file format should work just the same as it would if it was created by Word 97-2003.

However, for a form to work correctly in Word 97-2003, you need to make sure you've used the 'Legacy Formfields' in Word 2007 and not the newer Content Controls.

Cheers

Hi Macropod,

Thankyou for your advice. The problem I was having was resolved by using the 'Legacy Formfields'.

Feel a bit stupid for not noticing that in the first place. But thank you for your help all the same. :)
