Hi,

We have one user, so it must be a tick box somewhere, that has office 2007. When he receives document which has an embedded spreadsheet for example he can't double click it open. Excel doesn't load, nothing seems to happen.

If he loads word in safe mode then it works. Any ideas

Thanks

Yes, of course....tick box somewhere.

Start Excel
Go to
[red]Office Button[/red] (Top left)
[red]Excel Options[/red] (Bottom right)
Go to [red]Advanced[/red] and then [red]General[/red]
Uncheck [red]Ignore other applications that use Dynamic data Exchange (DDE)[/red]

Also, in Excel Options
Go to [red]Trust Center[/red]
[red]Trust Center Settings; Add-ins[/red]
Check [red]Require application add-ins to be signed by trusted publisher[/red]

Quick draw Mcgraw... that's me

Also, if using Norton make sure to disable Office Plug-in

Hi,

Thanks for the advice, I should have made myself clearer, it is any type of embedded file , they are not running norton...

Or will the above still work.

Hi. If they are using Outlook, then they need to get help from an outlook expert. I understand there is a setting there that causes embedded objects not to open.

Sorry, don't know nuthin' about Outlook except for some general stuff.

Hi,

He says the same problem whether it is loaded directly from outlook or saved locally. As it can load when in save mode, would I be correct and think it is something to do with the normal.dotm?

Will have a go tomorrow.

Isn't Normal.dotm related to Word only?

I believe the way Billy G has designed it, it doesn't matter whether Outlook is running or not.
