I have a user running WXP pro SP2 using Word 2003 SP3. It will not print to any printer. Excel prints fine, OneNote prints fine, and Firefox prints fine. I have removed all font related add-on software I could find.

Print preview works fine. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Office twice. I have run detect and repair from the help menu several times.

I have gone through the MS KB article here and it didn't work.

Here is the process. Open word and create a new document with generic content. hit CTRL-p and nothing. No dialog box or anything. Hit the print icon on the toolbar - same thing - nothing. Click file>print and nothing.

Any ideas?

That does not appear to be it after all. I uninstalled the avery software and still can't print logged in as the user.

The macro still seems to be present, even though I uninstalled the software. In word I went to tools>Macro>macros and it is at the top of the list. It won't let me delete it. It is highlighted but the delete button is greyed out.

How the heck do you get rid of this junk?

Can u print as an adimin? then definitely it's the user profile that's corrupt.

Yes, I was able to print as the admin. Will windows recreate everything if I delete that users folder in explorer? Will it even let me delete it? I'm sure there is some stuff in there the user would prefer not to lose.

if u r an admin, it will let you del. what the user will lose:

- any customization to apps
- queries
- favorites

if you rename, then these can be retrieved later

I am logged in as administrator and when I try to rename the folder I get an error message saying access is denied.

u r either not logging in as an admin or there is something seriously wrong with the setup on that system. 'cause, admin should be able to delete the profiles.

if all else fails, give them new id and a password, that way they will have a new profile.

username=administrator ... that is as 'administrator' as I know how to log in.

This machine is quickly becoming a candidate for a rebuild. It's starting to BSOD on me now.

(sorry, was away for a few...)

there r a few options:

try booting in safe mode (as admin), and try to delete.

delete or rename the profile from command prompt, if you don't know how - please post

look at this MS kb -
