Hi,

I am wondering if anyone has had this problem:

You are working in Word 2002 and it just plain stops responding. No menus work, no toolbar buttons work, text entry doesn't work. Sometimes can unfreeze by clicking on the taskbar to minimize word and restore it.

Applied the service packs, it's completely up-to-date and I still have this problem.

However, it seems to only be with our Pentium 4 machines. The Pentium III machines work just fine.

Anyone?

I am having the same problem. The machines, now that you mention it, are all P4's (Dell Optiplex GX360). They have all been burned from Ghost images, only a handful of the machines are experiencing the problems. I tried disabling autosave, spellchecker, no help. I have SP's 1 and 2 installed, as well. Have opted to back the machines up to Office2K in the interim.

I did figure it out but forgot to post it. We do use NAV but it wasn't the problem.

Our P4's have ATi video cards in them, and it seems the "Hydravision" in the taskbar was causing Word to do all sorts of weird things. I disabled both of ATi's taskbar apps and now all is good.

Daniel.
