Word 2000 Page numbers 1

Using page numbers file on screen shows e.g. Page 1 of 3, 2 of 3, 3 of 3, when selected to print using "Print Icon" or "File - Print" prints as Page 1 of 1, 2 of 2, 3 of 3. yet when you select print preview then use the "Print icon" it prints OK. Has anybody come across this problem?

1. Show/Hide is on, try turning it off
or
2. Background printing is on, try turning that off
else
3. Print in reverse order and it should print OK

We had this problem on a machine and there was a service pack fix for the page number problem from Microsoft. So, make sure you have all of the latest service packs installed.
