Need assistance setting up a mail merge on Avery Labels 5160 - Dual Column

I would like to print 1 record per column but mail merge works left to right rather than in a column format.

What options are available, if any, to achieve this?

I have used the "next record" field, but again, that works only "left to right."

TIA!!!

can you highlight cells on the first row then edit > copy

go to a new sheet and edit > paste special and choose transpose > OK

this or versions of this will change your colums to rows

Labels are in a table. Copy the first column of the table and then delete the entire page. Paste back in the first column and then format your doc for two columns, add in a column break and then paste in again that first column. Don't forget to add in the next record code for the cell at the top of the second column. You may need to tweak the margins.

What quantities are you mail-merging?
You can make a doc setup like the one at the link below, but it doesn't work with mail merge. Getting it to work with mail merge would be a bear, I think. But note in the sample how we can make other labels *replicate* the original. You could easily do this in columns instead of the way I did it--in all cells to create a whole sheet. And that dropdown can be a text field that's typed, not a limited selection...
