Word 2000 Doesn't Open And Hangs System

Hello,

Everytime I try and open Word or any file that is .doc it doesn't open it up and hangs. When I hit ctrl-alt-del it says that the system resources are closed. I then have to reboot the whole system.

I have tried deleting and re-installing word, and also fixing it to no avial!

Any suggestions!

When you say delete, do you mean uninstall? You need to run the setup program and uninstall it that way and then re-install.

yes, i have unistalled it, and then re-installed it but the problem is still there.

i have also run numerous virus scans and everything is ok

That happened to me and I deleted the normal.dot and recreated a new one.
