Avaya Experts,

How do you get the phones to NOT upgrade?
Or get them to upgrade?

It's IP 500, 5410 phones.
I rebooted the IP Office 500 main switch

now all the phones say:
"Please Wait"

I believe it's because they're trying to upgrade the firmware.
It's at 5.0 and I think it's trying to upgrade to 6.0

Are there settings in Manager to "Don't Upgrade firmware?"
I can't find them.
Manager is now open.

Thank you,
Bill

5410 and 5420 need to have the upgrade turned on.
You need a NoUser source number entry ALLOW_5410_UPGRADES and you also need to turn the upgrade on in the system with the batch file you can find in the Admin software in the root of the admin you will find fw_on.bat that you need to run to turn the fw upgrade on

Thank you very much for this info.
Allow_5410_upgrades does show under Source Numbers
I ran the batch file.
Then what?
Do I need to reboot the IP 500 again?
Or unplug and re-plug a 5410 phone?

Thank you for this, but that's not doing it. I did unplug the phones and plugged them in again, and even rebooted the IP500. Maybe it's something going wrong.

Is there a way to tell it to NOT upgrade, and just use the existing 5410 R5 firmware?

Thank you,
Bill

Finally figured out the (temporary) answer:

To NOT upgrade, since the upgrade process isn't working for this system:
Remove/delete the line:
Allow_5410_upgrades

Then it doesn't try to upgrade. Since R5 works, then the phone system works.

The phones want to upgrade to R6.00 and are running R5.00
They do nto have to upgrade as R6.00 is only for some simplified Chinese, Korean and other languages.

BAZINGA!
