Hi, hope somebody knows... i'm sure its simple but can't work it out. I'm unable to print blank pages in a document. Blank pages have been put in to 'pad' out a document but Acrobat refuses to print them. It ignores them and prints the following page instead. Anything appreciated, thanks.

Can you see the blank pages in the program you're using to create the document ? What program is it ? Have you tried using page numbering in that program, so that the blank pages have a number ? (perhaps even put in a line that says 'this page intentionally left blank'? And what version of Acrobat are you printing from ?

Hi, thanks for getting in touch. It was an existing PDF file. Opened using Acrobat Standard. Inserted a blank page from there. When printing from Acrobat Standard, thats when the problem has started. (V9). Looked elsewhere and for prev. versions it suggests there is a tick box in Print settings to 'Print Blank Pages'. Can't find any reference to it in 9. Thanks.

I'm running Acrobat 6 Pro, looked in print setup, don't see any mention of blank page handling there or in the Print menu. I don't see any way to Insert a - I have to insert a File. Are you inserting a File which is blank? Why not just insert a page which says 'This Page intentionally left Blank', then SAVE the document with the added page, then print.

I made a quick test document in Indesign with 3 pages, leaving the middle page blank, and when I made the PDF, I was able to print the blank page from the PDF both to our laser printer and to another PDF. I printed from a PC running windows 7, as well as a Mac running 10.6.4, and in both cases, the blank page printed.

I'd guess then that maybe the option to print/suppress blank pages is a function of your printer? Did you check to see if it was buried in any of the printer advanced options?

Hi, sorry i've been lacking with info for some time. Problems with snow :)
Anyway, I cant really have 'blank page' in the document. It used to work completely blank. You are correct, it is a Blank Page inserted into the file. If I put something in the page (a full stop) for example, it works, but isnt acceptable. Any more advise really appreciated, thanks.

Put "This page intentionally left blank" in white type on the "Blank page". It'll be there, but you'll have to mouse over it on screen to see it, and it won't be visible on the paper.

Thats not a bad compromise. Doesnt really answer how to get acrobat to show blank pages but hopefully should achieve the desired result. I'll give it a go and let you know. Thanks.

You could try putting some text (anything at all) on the page that's the same colour as the page background (typically white). For example, a white period.

Alternatively, a transparent graphic.

I have a similar problem. I'm using Adobe Reader 9.4 and having problems printing a PDF file that has blank pages inside. In my case, it will stop at the page previous to the blank page and won't print anything else. It's like the blank page signifies "end of the document." Weird, huh?

I looked for a setting, but no luck. Not a printer problem. Tried printing to several different printers.

Searches for support articles are hard to find because "blank page" only returns problems were people GET blank pages when they try to print. My problem is the reverse.

Anyway, sorry for hyjacking the post. I'll be happy to try whatever that works for MrBud1972.

Great to see somebody else having similar problems. I too could only find instances of only printing blank pages. Curiously, the version I have is also v9. Prior to that, it worked fine.
