Won't get passed Log On Window ... Please help!

Howdy!

Since yesterday, I have been fighting with viruses & spyware on my server. Server was totally out of commission.

I have finally cleaned things up after booting in safe mode (with networking) and ran adeware and an off the shelf spyware removing program.

Adeware found a load of things and remove them all ... The problem now is that after rebooting the server, I enter my user name & password but the sever simply hangs.

What is going on now?

I've seen this when a spyware cleaning program has deleted something that it shouldn't have usually on windows XP though. You could try running a repair install using the windows CD but you really should consider a fresh install as it's very difficult to tell if you have removed all of the malicious software.

I fear a fresh install more than I do the malicious software. I will try a repair and see what happens.
