Reinstalling WMI requires the following steps:
1. Stop the WMI service.
2. Delete the WMI repository directory.
3. Restart the WMI service.
4. The WMI repository is reinstalled shortly after starting the service.
Detail of steps:
1. Type "net stop winmgmt"
2. Navigate to %systemroot%\system32\wbem directory and delete the Repository directory.
3. Type "net start winmgmt"
Low disk space on either the drive holding the OS or the drive holding Backup Exec is another very common cause for WMI repository backup failures. Free space on C: is usually the last thing I check when faced with a failure, and it probably ought to be the first. I don't like to let free space drop below 100 megs.
