WK2 Setup freezes on the final step: Save Settings

I've tried numerous times to install wk2pro and it always freezes the system on the final step - save settings. I've stripped it down to only video card, memory, harddrive, no luck.

P4 2.53
512K-PC3200 XMSCorsair memory
Diamond Viper 16MB Video
80g Western Digital HDD

Any ideas. I've stumped!

I'm having a similar problem upgrading from NT4, only this workstation hangs on registering components. Like you, I have striped the box down and still have the same problem. If you find any suggestions, please pass them on. Thanks.

I had a similar problem and the install would fail very time even though win 98 SE installed ok. I tracked it down to a faulty memory chip. I also had DDR 512k
Try a memory tester program like DOCMEM ver 2.0

I had this problem years ago, and couldn't get Win2k to install on a pc with a Hercules (TNT2 chipset) graphics card. Slapped an old vga card in it, installed, then switched back to the TNT2 - worked for me.
