Given five reports created by Wizard. One of the fields is named 'Case no.'. Programmer wants to rename field to 'Case_no.' to avoid dealing with quotations marks when using Visual Basic Access (VBA). Renaming field in table does not automatically rename field in reports. Must rename field in each report. When this is done, one report works, others don't. He thinks Wizard somewhere keeps track of fields original name, still recognizing it as 'Case no.'.

Is this so and what can be done about it other than recreating the reports outside of Wizard?

The wizards only help with initially creating your forms/reports. They don't have any "memory" for keeping track of field name changes. If you change the name of a field in your table then you also need to change it in all of your queries, forms, reports, etc manually. (Or re-create the report from scratch using a wizard)

Check out the report that is still giving you trouble. Look at the report's record source and each control's record source and see if any of them still reference the old name. Also, if the report is sorted or grouped on Case No then check out the sorting and grouping section. The old name may still be buried in there somewhere.
