Its budget time and my supervisor asked me if i had any items for our switch, callpilot, and ccm . I can't for the life of me think of anything. Can you guys ? He said anything that will in the long run make our day to day maintenance lives easy.

I feel for you buddy. I was in the same boat.

I would request a fleet vehicle.

New laptop for remote access.

1. Get UDS-1100 IP/Serial connectors for your main tty ports for your systems. this saves me lots of time

Training will work, but certification changes are coming within Avaya and are on hold for now, but they never hurt.

Ask the for a test lab so you can play with the new technology.

test lab is a joke.. (opinion).. for profit, day to day can not invest in your future..

i would request upgrades and adding voip IF you can cost justfy that.

becuase your still using dialup, your 20 years of the pace on the it side.. easy access for us is vpn to my desktop. procom past that. i can hit desktops on each site to direct serial to any of those boxes.. so our on call guys can reach any switch or cp with a simple desktop icon from their home network.. gives me security since i screen the mac address prior to asking for a name and password
