Wiring diagram for Transtalk radio to ACS wire

The cable from the transtalk receiver to the partner acs r3.0 looks to be the same as a lan cable (cat5 cable). I attached my transtalk radio to the acs and it works but it sometimes cuts out. Does anyone have a wiring schematic or outline for the cable that connects the radio module to the partner system? Or know where I can get one?

an 8 pin cable will work fine, it only uses the middle 2 pair. pins 3,4,5,6...

Also make sure you do not mount the transtalk base near the ACS (per transtalk instructions).

It can be a regular 4 conductor line cord and/or gets wired just like any other Partner phone.

I don't know where you are seeing a LAN cable other than the jack will accept an RJ-45 plug as will all Partner equipment ports. The reason for this is simply backward compatibility with old Merlin wiring and jacks when Merlin was upgraded to Partner. They aren't RJ-45 ports at all, just the center 4 pins are actually connected. Yes they will work with LAN wiring (after all, Merlin was actually 568B) but that's overkill.

The only exception to this is the Transtalk which, in addition to Partner, is also designed to operate with legacy Merlin which actually uses an RJ-45. So the RJ-45 can be functional on the Transtalk but when used with the Partner system only the usual 4 wires (2 pair) are used just like any other phone.

I would say if your phone cuts out there may be other problems but the wiring should be easy to check. Use a regular phone line cord to connect the radio module with the processor and see how it works. You can place the radio module near the ACS. I never put them there permanently but it's OK for testing.

Hi Hal,
Partner is 568A in Canada anyhow. Wht/Blu - Blu/Wht for talk, The orange pair for supply and digital. 568B would make the grn pair power and digital. Of course, if both ends are wired the same it does not matter.
