I have configured my new benq wirelss router for pppoe account.setting everything ok & LAN connection shows status connected , send & receive bytes updating but i can't connect to internet. Iam using Windows XP.Your help is higly appreciated

So, webpages won't load in your browser, is that it? From the sound of it, seems like you have no problem getting logged into your router and viewing the configuration screen. That at least means your physical connection is fine and Windows can see it.

Open up a command prompt (Start -> Run and type cmd). Try pinging any website by typing something like this:
ping www.yahoo.com

After hitting enter, it should return some results indicating packet loss at 0%. If any error messages appear, post back. If you do get the results fine, then most likely you have a browser problem. Let us know what you find...

In XP you may want to click on your network connection and see if the firewall is on or not and if you are allowing certian services like HTTP for web browsing.

If you do not like my post feel free to point out your opinion or my errors.

I find, more often than not, that most users forget that surfing the internet by domain name requires the use of a valid domain name server to resolve internet names to IP addresses.

Make sure your router has the correct DNS entry. If not, then you cannot surf the internet by domain name. You can, however, surf by IP address.

Try surfing to the microsoft site with the IP address.

Hi
Its not problem with DNS Server
I have figured out the problem Lan connection was previously connfigured to pppoe network adapter.
I removed that & created new connection it works fine.
Thank you all for your support
