Wireless Problems...WPC54G and WRT54G

I am having a problem setting up the wireless card on my g/fs laptop. I installed the router, which works fine. And tried to install the pcmcia card on her laptop (IBM win xp home) It installed fine, and finds the router, but it wont connect to the internet. I can get on the network, but not online. Now if I get on my laptop (dell win xp home) that has a built in card, I am right online. Im not sure what to do. Step by step instructions would be superb.

A good place to start would be check a few things. From the command prompt enter ipconfig /all and see if the laptop is receiving ip, gateway, and dns settings. Then enter
ping 206.163.82.4 and see if it responds
If that works then enter
ping

http://www.msn.com

and see if it resolves the name to a numbered address.
Also....have you checked the laptop for virus or spyware infections....spyware can kill internet access.

i pinged 206.163.82.4 and it said the host was unreachable

You need to post the output of the command ipconfig /all from your g/f's laptop. Without this information, it's hard to troubleshoot. From what I can see it looks like your default gateway maybe incorrect.
