I have a school that wants a cordless phone for the gym class teacher, what do you all recommend. The signal needs to be strong enough to travel through a couple cement walls so they can carry it with them into the locker rooms if needed. Thank you in advance for your advice.

Engenius Durafon works on an analog port on the system. They have great range.

Can you call the phone as an extension only with the analog port. And make calls to extensions? (3 digit numbers)

So As long as I program that port (extension) for analog use, I can use any phone as long as it has good range?????

You need an SLT port to start with. That is the analog port you mention. The IPO will just see it as a standard single line telephone. You can go IP or DECT phones but they are expensive to implement. When I install IPOs in warehouses I often install a 2 or 3 phone base unit. You use flashhook commands to implement features. As for dialing take the phone offhook and you can dial an extension. Dial 9 for an outside line. It is all automatic.

Does it matter which port/ports are the SLT ports? I assume I can change that in programming??? Anything else I may need to know or want to know before I do this?

You cannot change a port from digital to analog via programming. Certain modules have digital ports, certain modules have analog ports. You need to make sure you have an analog module in your system to connect the phone to.

And FYI, you are in the wrong forum for a Merlin Legend. This is the IP Office Forum. There is a separate forum for Merlin Systems.

I have a customer with intermittent noise on different sets.IP Office 7.0 (32) ,with old M7310.Is Avaya support the old M7310 (year 1991).Contrast (Feature*7 goes up to 4)???

Thanks
