wireless network

i have a desktop and a laptop. the desktop has DSL on it and i hooked up a Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router (regular DSL wireless router) to share the internet with the laptop. it works and im typing this from my laptop. but my question is: can i, just using the router, set up my two computers so i can share a printer and files? if so, how?

for some reason, the computers dont seem to be "sensing" eachother...i followed the steps but it doesn't seem to work..
