wireless network problem

I have a Dlink 802.11g wireless router with 4 lan ports. I have 3 computers connected via wired to the the router and the 3 furthest computers I have a dlink pci wirless card. I set the WEP and can see my wirless connection on each of the computers but the problem is that my nieghbor has a wirless network as well and we can see the option to connect to his connection and even though we go and connect to our wireless connection after a few minutes it goes offline and then only the nieghbors connection works. How can I do it to just connect to my network. I used to have a 802.11b router as does my nieghbor and that is why I got the g router to see if this would help.

You set your router with a unique SSID, a different channel than your neighbor, and enable at least WEP.

You set your workstation wireless adapter to have the definitions of your router as a "Preferred" network, and under the Advanced properties, you tell XP that you will only connect to secured and preferred networks.

Thanks linney for your response but my problem how do I block my nieghbors wirless access point from connection my computers to his network.

Sorry I misread your post, totally. I thought you and your neighbor wanted to connect to each other, luckily Bill was awake.

To simplify your entire problem........change your dlink address which defaults at 192.168.0.1 ..........to 192.168.1.1 making sure the router is also DHCP enabled.
