I have a Buffalo AirStation G54 router connected to an NTL cable modem. Wireless is enabled. My computer connects ok, then after a few minutes (time varies) it loses connection to the network (says it cannot find network). However my laptop stays connected without any problems and shows signal strenght @ 54Mbps and the broadband is still active. Have tried several network cards (inc USB) and this always happens. It seems to be a XP problem but i'm stumped as to what.

All drivers are latest versions. Tried a different router as well and still happens.

Help, as always, greatly appreciated.

If it annoys Microsoft then it's worth doing, and doing well!!

Here are some threads about odd wireless behavior, there might be some clues in some of them?

I had a similar issue with other hardware in XP updated the firmware and jobs a Pidgeon? Have you tried updating the firmware?

i had the same thing last week, i changed the channel of the router from 11 to 6 and it has worked all this week

Did you enable 802.1x authentication in the driver properties?

Disable it, as your router is not a native RADIUS server.

Check the power settings on the config software for your pc's wireless card.

Right click My Computer - Properties - Hardware - Device Manager. Select your card from the Network Adapters... right click it - Properties. Under the Advanced tab check the Power Save Mode and check that this is 'disabled'. If it is enabled it could mean that it is being shutdown when the connection is idle, consequently you are loosing your internet connection.

Just a thought.... hope this helps.
