As the subject says my wireless mouse has just suddenly stop working. I have tried changing the batteries however it still doesn't work. After changing the batteries I tried pressing the connect button underneath the mouse however it still doesn't work. After doing all that I restarted the computer and still doesn't work. Before the mouse decided not to work it was hard to move for a while. The keyboard works fine.

I have changed to another mouse and keyboard so I can get a solution for this problem. So can someone please suggest what else could be wrong? I was using a Microsoft wireless optical keyboard and mouse with Windows XP. Thanks in advance.

to pair up you have to press the connect button on the receiver first, the the connect button on the mouse

There is of course also the heavy possibility that it's just broken. I've gone through many wireless mice over the years.

Have you tried uninstalling your mouse & keyboard thru Device Manager? Shut down, plug your wireless mouse & keyboard back in & reboot. See if XP will find them & correct the problem.

Like Grenage, I too have gone thru numerous batteries & quite a few mice. I finally got tired of buying & replacing batteries and went to a wired mouse while still maintaing my wireless keyboard.

I had a Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 stop working all of a sudden a couple months ago. I called Microsoft, they tried troubleshooting over the phone, and couldn't get it to work. I told them I bought the mouse less than a year ago (which I had), they sent me a new one without any paperwork on my part.
