I live in a duplex, and want to share my DSL connection with the upper tenant. My first thought would be to try a wireless networking kit for this,as cabling is not an option.Or run a outdoor rated cat5 jumper up there via the exterior.I was thinking about putting the wireless antennas in the windows,as the upper and lower windows are aligned(about 12 feet apart).Would this be an option?Any suggestions would be appreciated.Thanks.

I read that artical and one of it's major points is that it's secure because once it goes past the main electrical panel the signal dimminishes. Most likely they have a panel in each basement and the signal would be killed. 12 feet between floors is very resonable for wireless. I would say if they can hear each other yelling then they can share wireless internet hhahahahahhaa.

I saw that artical in another thread that u posted about powerline network and will suggest it if the situations right. In fact I might pick some up to test out. I can sell them to a client or return them if i'm not happy.

Thanks

Once it gets past the transformer, not the panels.

I have nice way doing this right now.
I use Intel Anypoint wireless hardware. (They are very cheap on Ebay).
1. I use an old lap top (P75 with 16MB Ram) as the Internet Sharing Host which has a Intel PCMCIA Anypoint wireless card installed. I keep this one running all the time.
2. One USB Intel anypoint wireless device is used for a desk top, which shares the internet connection.
3. One laptop uses another Intel anypoint wireless card to
share the internet.
Total hardware needed: 2 PCMCIA Intel Anypoint Wireless cards and one USB Intel wireless device.
You can use an old PC to do the trick if you use another USB wireless device.

I have this setup running seamlessly for more than 2 months and I love it.
