Wireless connection good no internet

Good afternoon everyone,
I am having a really hard time with one laptop connecting to d-link wireless access point.
I am able to get it to connect with an excellent signal strength, but when I open internet explorer I get a pop-up that says no internet connection detected?
I have six other users connecting to this access point without a single problem.
any ideas?
Let me know if you need more info.

Does that laptop have a static dns entry?
Can that laptop ping the gateway?
Or ping google?

We need more information...

Yes, I had to set a static IP to get a connection to the WAP
I am out of town and can't get back to the laptop until tomorrow to check if I can ping anything.

Hey,

Check that you entered the correct wireless key for the security. You shoulf try to get it set by DHCP.

Thanks for the ideas, but we will never know the answer because my customer bought a new notebook and threw out the one not working.
