Hello.

Please bear with me. I am not very savy with wireless technology. Oddly enough, the problem that I am experiencing follows a pattern. After approximately 30 minutes of strong network connectivity, my network signal is lost (regardless of proximity to the access point). I'm quite frustrated at this point. Please help. Thanks in advance.

Cassie

Lastest firmware, cable signal is fine
Router: Netgear WG614 (desktop)
Wireless card: Netgear WG511 (laptop)
Using WEP (128bit)

Hi,

disable 802.1x authentication under the Wireless Connection tab in properties for the card. This usually does not prevent a connection, it just makes it drop after 10-15 minutes of use.

The time seems a bit long for the time-out, but it's worth a shot.

I agree with jimmorley above. I will just add:

. Make certain you have not disabled SSID broadcast on the router;
. It could well help to change your current channel assignment; try 1 or 11.
. If your clients are XP, it might be helpfull to disable or remove the WPA Hotfixes: use Control Panel, Add/Remove to remove the WPA extensions. See: thread730-582449
