I have recently installed wireless network adapter [Netgear WG111v2, the USB type in my desk top. It seems to be working but not connecting to the internet.

I have provided the right ISP key and password form the manufacturer [Verizon FIOS] but it is working very slowly and not connecting to the Internet.

The sending or up loading is around 800 bits but the receiving is only 3 to 5 bits.

Any advise to improve connection will be appreciated.

Thank you

Thank you, Make sense, but how do you change it?
I cannot find directions on this once the adaptor set up is finished.

You need to log on to the AP to do that...

You could also run the speedtest from Verizon, which will tell you the problem and it does have a one button adjustment if it is needed...

PS: I don't have Verizon or any of the four Routers that they use...

Run a check to see if there is an updated firmware. I've seen this on some Verizon units (ableit the older Westel ones), and an updated firmware usually does the trick. Just make sure to do it from a wire connection. Wireless is tricky that way.
