For some reason all the phones on the accesspoints ping from 150-500 ms while the pcs on the same accesspoints ping at 1-2 ms. Is there something set up incorrectly or thats normal. I just never noticed? I have noticed that the phones are breaking up a lil bit, we have 5 phones and 2 Access points, cisco 1200s

Perhaps what you are seeing is the SVP in action. When spectra phones are on hook you should see pings times that are very high. When a phone goes off hook you will see ping times should vary from practically nothing to reasonable.

Try it yourself. Ping a spectra while on hook. The do an extended ping to the same phone and go from on hook to off hook.

There is no point in having great ping times to an on hook phone.

Yeah that was weird, when noone is using the phone the pings are high, but when they start using it( they are in a call or something) I can ping it but still 40-100 ms. very strange, specially since a pc on the same Access points always pings 1 ms

If you don't have any trouble with the sound on the phones, you shouldn't worry. One would guess that answering to ping isn't something that has a high priority during calls either.

Pinging is just an indication, not exact sience.

Knowing the real transfer time would require you to trace the voice traffic from point A to B.
