Hi - starting to get familiar with illustrator now, and i am working on a logo - one of the ideas put forward is a 3d wireframe globe, has anyone got any tips on the best way forward with this - I looked at the polar grid tool - did not seem the right thing 3d wise, so i now thinking about the mesh tool ? am i on the right track there ? any thoughts greatly appreciated. I could just use an existing globe and modify, but i am interested in how to construct one from scratch, to help me understand illustrator more (version 10)

You could draw one arc of the globe that will be the right side of the globe, then just flip that around to be the left side, making sure that each one is exactly half a circle connecting together in the center. Then, just use the blend tool and select how many different steps you want to blend. Once you get this horizontal portion done, just copy that and past in front and rotate it 90 degrees to make the vertical part. Does this help?

Thanks, i can see what you are saying there, i will look into the blend tool.
