wire gauge for jhooks

I get no more than 30 cat6 wires on a jhook when runing your own wires to the ceiling grid.
When I went to buy the grid wire, I find many differant guages.
Soooo... What guage grid wire should be used?
 
that would not be my concern. my concern would be what are you attaching the grid wire to, how well is that ancored. thats what is supporting the weight.
 
Metal Trusses, That's not my concern. :)
But the wire at Graybar is 16ga and other grid wires are 12 gauge.
A big differance though the 16 gauge would be alot easier to work with.
 
that would be more than sufficient un less its a mile long
 
probably 18 if it is also supporting the weight of a light fixture
 
It should not be supporting a light fixture. The point is to install your own independent drop wire for cabling only.
