I've downloaded a variety of self-installing exe files that are definitely 64 bit specific - for example,

nvidia mobo drivers, nvidia video drivers, AVG antivirus (the 7.1 64bit build)...

In each case, I've downloaded via IE6 both 32 and 64 bit versions, but after the download, launching any of these files to install, I get file corruption errors.

When I download the same files to my WinXP32 system and burn the files to CD & xfer to the XP64 system, they install fine!

AMD dual core x2 3800+
WinXP64 SP1
MSI K8N Neo4 SLI mobo
MSI GeForce 7800GTX SLI

dstuben,

Now that you can load the 64bit drivers i.e. NIC, mobo & others. Install and se if you can replicate the corrupt file errors.

I assume you are running XP 64bit??

As mentioned in original post, I'm running XP64 and all the driver files I've tried to install were "corrupt".

I had to download these files to my alternate XP Pro system and burn them to a CD, then transfer them to the XP64 system. They loaded fine this way. Even with all of my 64 bit drivers loaded and system operational, any subsequent downloads always result in corrupt files.

Once again, I must download the files to my other non-64 XP box, burn to a CD, then transfer to the XP64 box. Then, they work fine. It's almost as if something in the XP64 system is "auto-corrupting" any file I download via the XP64 system.
