WinXP roaming profiles - do they work yet?

I get the same problem...
Scenario:
Linux server, 3 clients (1 x Debian Box, 2 x windoze XPProfessional boxes)... Linux Server running samba 2.2.1 (i think) as a pdc for the xp clients...
Conneciton is fine, but the roaming profiles dont seem to load properly... Here is what happens....
Log on one.. change desktop wallpaper, log off...
Lon onto the other, wallpaper has not changed; however when you check the status of the desktop settings (right click desktop, choose properties etc...) the new one is selected, and on pressing 'ok' the wallpaper changes...
Everythine else works fine, documents save and upload to the server on logout...
Like the previous person said; no documentation here?
