Is there a diffrence of i run IIS on a win2k server or a XP Pro box? if so what are the advantages and disadvantages? I have heard i won't be able to edit my pages remotely with frontpage if i use IIS on XP pro - is this true?

The price is not an issue its more of a functionality issue.
This will be to host a few small business sites - requiring ASP - PHP - and a shoping cart system.

Thanks for listening.

One major difference is that you can only run one virtual site with the 2K/XP Pro versions where as with the Server versions you can run many.

This is the major limiting factor in my opinion.

Hope this helps

If this is actually going to be a Web Server definitely use a server OS.

Thanks - I also understand that if i don't use the server OS i am limited to 10 connections

Thats correct. The version of IIS packages in the Pro versions is limited to 10 simultaneous connections. The version of IIS packaged with server allows for 9999 connections.
