winsvrc.exe...where is it?

I'm unable to open any files of type "Application" because winsvrc.exe cannot be located. I've searched in Windows 95, 98 and 2000 to no avail. Please assist!!

This is caused by a virus Win32.semisoft. What you need is a good anti-virus program. Good Luck!!

This is also the message received if you have the 'Navidad' virus. I just found it on a customers machine.
A small .inf file is available from Computer Associates that will remove the registry keys that cause the 'winsvrc.exe' message. Because this is a new virus you will need the latest updates to any anti-virus software.
