Hi. I'm having an issue installing WinSPM on a windows 2000 laptop. I get about 1/4 of the way done on the install, and it just freezes. I've tried copying the CD over to the hard drive and installing from there, both normally and in safe mode, still freezes at the same spot.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
John

Sounds like you may have a corrupt disk.

I thought so at first as well, but it did work on another system (my own xp desktop).

Thanks,
John

It may have worked - but how long ago did you install it on the laptop? It is probably just one file that is bad. I would just download a new version from Avaya.com - starting with the R4 to R5 upgrade. Install that patch - and then download and install each successive patch to Version 9.

We used to have this issue all the time. it was usually the touch pad on the laptop. When you are installing it open up task manager and start to kill processes untill it runs the install. The touch pad and a couple of other things will stop the install.
