winnt server 4.0 sp6a explorer.exe

the desktop has hung and i can not end the explorer.exe process in task manager. The server is still running but i can not gain access to work on it.

Does anyone know how to stop desktop hanging and get it restarted without rebooting please?

Try the following, I just got it to work so dont know how successful it'l be on your server.....

Goto Task Manager/Applications/New Task and type Desktop in the Open: field....

seems to launch the desktop for the currently logged on user....????

Thanks I tried it but had no joy. I am now trying a reg change see Q156366. I'll let you know when it next hangs.
