Some of my users are getting the Winmail.dat attachment when sending emails to each other.

Exchange 2000 Server running NEMX and Blackberry.

Outlook 2000 Clients. (everyone uses Outlook)

All are fully patched and have no other problems.

By all accounts I can find this should be impossible. Espically with internal mail that does not ever see the internet. But I've seen it this has been going on for months. The problem is intermittent not all messages have this. Not even many of them do. Just once in a while an email will have winmail.dat.

Thank you in advance for any help or insite you can provide. Have a great weekend.

Right I've seen that and I understand that. We are NOT using internet mail. Users are ONLY using outlook. Outlook installed in exchange envoronment not internet mail.

The sender and reciever BOTH have Outlook. This should not be happening but for some reason despite all information I can find saying it should not be possible it's happening.

Thank you for the link but that's not quite the problem but close. Have a good weekend :)

We set all users to send HTML emails and that has taken care of it. As annoying as HTML emails are everyone has to send them like that.

I hope everyone had a good weekend.
