My computer includes a HP Colorado 8G TRAVAN drive which has functioned under Win98. Now under WindowsXP-Pro, I get the following error message:"Unrecoverable hardware error: replace media and try again." I have with three different tapes, same message.
WinXP recognizes the drive. HP recommended using the STOMP Backup my PC software since their own software isn't XP-compatible. HP has also replaced the drive three times. STOMP techs are stumped too.
Anybody have a clue?

I came here looking for an answer to the HP Colorado II problem of not being able to create a recovery disk set for XP .. in reading your post .. YOU gave me the answer as to why the darn thing won't create .. incompatability .. for that, THANKS!
