Hi,
I used a windows 98 startup disk on my XP machine and now when I boot it says starting windows 98 and goes to the c prompt. The only way around this is to have my windows xp disc in and boot from CD. How can I fix this ?

THanks

Have you tried fixing the master boot record?
There is a comand that will write a new boot sector to the hard drive. I forget what the comand is for 9x boot disks, but under win2k it is FIXMBR from the 'recovery console'

It's: fdisk /mbr

power97, that's what a Windows 98 boot disk it supposed to do. If you type: win at the prompt, it should load windows.
